The reader has to scroll down to see the picture of this painting inspired by the vision of Saint Alphonsus Liguori.
Our Pastor at Mary Mother of the Light Maronite
Catholic Church is Fr Gary George CSsr, a
Redemptorist Monk of The Congregation of The
Most Holy Redeemer.
He is a holy priest and an inspiration to us all.
He is a tireless treasure who has special conferences
and events scheduled for virtually every day of the
year.
Beneath the painting Ol' Mick will post some screen
shot from the Maronite Missal which will give the
reader an idea of just how beautiful and illuminating
is the Divine Liturgy of St. James the Less, an Apostle
and the brother of St. Jude.
In the DL you wil read a hymn that treats of the
Maronites and how they honor Mary three times
a year;
January 15: Virgin Mary of the Sowing (Our Lady of the Seeds).
May 15: Feast of the Virgin Mary of the Harvest (Our Lady of the Harvest).
August 15: Our Lady of the Grapes (Dormition and Assumption of the Virgin Mary).
Mick is the same age as Israel and he was born into the Latin Rite and if anybody told him back in the day that he would one day fall in love with The Divine Liturgy of St. James, he'd have called you crazy.
It was a Felix Culpa that led he and his Bride to the incomparable beauty that is The D.L.
Our local Bishop shuttered the Churches during Covid but I heard of a Holy Priest in Tequesta, Fl who did not shut down his Church but kept it open.
Mick and The Bride went and have never looked back and never will go back.
Fr. Gary is such a holy and worthy Pastor that Mick and The Bride tithe to him directly and both trust that he will spend the money rightly.
Lord, how the Lord has blessed us.
